Have them in my 991. Looks fantastic -and great match with the CF trim-, but the downside is that you lose the memory functions and the seat side airbags (seat airbags sensor/connector not compatible between the 997 and 991).

PS It was a 'Porsche Exclusive' option XWJ, but readily available for anyone to order. The 'Sports Seat Plus Backrest Painted' option XWJ included: paint finish in exterior color for sports seat backrest shell, seat control panel trim, plating trim & seat console. It was a late availability on the MY2012 991, so it couldn't be requested into production prior to Jan 2012. The 991 production started, as you all know, in the fall of 2011.

For those that have not seen Larry's 'Mexico Blue' .2 997 gt3, here is a photo of it from my collection.

PS To his credit, Larry did not specced this car, it was the dealer. I happen to love leather everywhere...unless I can substitute for it 'Alcantara'!

I don't know if Larry was facetious when he made that comment about the leather seat backs being a waste of money. That is NOT my point of view. I believe that this option is incredibly important for those ordering a truly elegant full leather interior for their 991's with the 'Sport Seats Plus'! And I believe it's worth the expense of the additional cost! And if you order deviating stitching for them, they will be even more striking!
