Sad experience

I see a ton of Panameras and Cayenne on the road and do not give them a thumbs up since there's just so many and I don't feel the same kinship that I do with the 2 door sports cars. However, if someone in the Panamera or Cayenne gave me a thumbs up I'd reciprocate. To go out of your way to insult someone is childish and rude. I'd be upset too

What a shallow insecure looser.
A wave deserves a wave back.
No matter what car the other person is driving.
Since so few 911 are daily drivers, that person waving from a non-911 could well be a 911 owner past/present/future.
Even if they are just a fan, don't diss anyone because of what they are driving at that moment in time.
Now we all need to wave at people to undo all the dammage that looser is doing to the rep of 911 owners.

Why wave or do thumbs up?
I stopped with this the day I started driving Porsche (aprox 1 year ago), when I was confronted with the opposition between several engine and/or model owners.
So no waving from me.
But when someone else gives me a wave or a thumbs up, I always wave back with a smile.

I don't get the insult either - a friendly wave back would be more appropriate - but do agree that most of the Cayenne's I see here are soccer moms who have NO tie to the car beyond as fashion accessory. It makes me sad for Porsche as a brand even though I recognize the business case for it. Down the road, it's going to be really tough to maintain the brand image they had.
(And I'm not putting down the OP driving a Cayenne turbo, and recognize that the Cayenne is about as sporty as an SUV can get... And drive a less capable SUV myself when I'm in that mode. And I like the Panamera, just not sure it's quite the same thing either. Oh-oh, does that make me a dick? :/ )
