Hi RIndy,
Yes, technically any time you touch the paint any dust could scratch the clear cover of the paint. In practice, it is just easier for me to just use a towel than to lift and use a heavy giant blow dryer that I could hit the paint with the dryer and scratch the paint. That would be a bigger risk for me since it is to heavy for me to manage. And the risk of me essentially scratching the paint with a microfiber cloth is nil. The towels they sell these days are meant for drying. If they really scratched the paint they would be out of business quickly. So this is one risk I am willing to take.

Thank you so much for adding ideas to my thread!
Have a great week.

Hi Money,

Wow, that's a lot of soap. I just don't want to use the pressure washer that's just to much of a hassle and a pressure washer could lift the clear bra.

Thanks for stopping by

Hello Porsche Friends,

Well, I had my first warranty work done. I guess it was bound to happen. So, in case this happens to anyone else, you will know what it is. Maybe I can help someone else out.

We have only had the car about four months. In that time, I’ve really never used the frunk. If I have bags, I just throw them into that handy bag holder they call rear seats.

My hub keeps guy things in the frunk, like a few tools and stuff guys keep in cars. Some time ago he noticed that the driver side tool kit had fallen off and was in the middle of the frunk. No big deal, he just hooked it back in.

And then it happened again, and again. Haunted? Haha! No.

So he looked close and the little rubber thing, farthest from the driver that holds the tool kit in, was squished in. See this picture.

It is squished. He checked the other side and it wasn’t squished in. So, he tried to unsquish it and it seemed to hold. Next time he checked, the toolbox was off again. So he looked at the other side and saw something was wrong. Check this out. This is the bad side. See anything wrong, other than the squished in rubber thing?

There is no way that rubber part will ever hold anything. The entire back of the plastic clip that holds the rubber part is broken off! As soon as you push in the tool kit, there is nothing to hold the rubber part.

It took about a week for the part arrived. While at the dealership several campaigns were also performed. That just about killed the day.

Have fun driving your cars!

The best reason to use the leaf blower to dry the car is that virtually eliminates the chance of getting water spots on the car. You still have to towel dry the car, but that goes very quickly.

I have been doing this process for over 6 years on all of my cars and I have had very few water spots on my cars during that time:
1. wash the top and the windows, then rinse, followed by blow dry, and finally, towel dry
2. wash one side and the front of the car...rinse... blow dry... towel dry
3. wash the other side and the rear of the car..rinse... blow dry... towel dry
If you can reduce the amount of times you touch the paint, it minimizes the potential for adding swirl marks in the paint.

Just another point of view on the leaf blower usage.
Hi gota911,
I really appreciate your information!
Thank you!
Have a great weekend!

He meant if you had reset the trip counter to zero at 891 miles, you could have and the total mileage be 991 abd the trip counter at 99.1
