There are no perfectionist body shops. Best you can hope for is find someone willing and able to be perfectionist enough for you with this. Usually they will repaint the whole door, maybe fade into adjacent panels, which might be okay on this basically new car. If it was me though I'd skip the hassles and touch it up. Start with primer over the metal, a few light coats not one big one. Then do the same with color. Wet sand smooth with 5000 or 6000 grit. Clear coat the whole thing and wet sand again. Polish and wax. Shops seldom take this approach, too time consuming, when they can charge for spraying a whole door and be done with it.

Yep, that's a respray, door(s), adjacent panels, wet sanding, clear, etc. Should not be too tough, though white can be a bitch to get right.

Ask around in the P-car community for some reco's on body shops and go see them and meet the owners, check the finished work, etc. They'll do a few sprayouts on the white so you can verify if the paint match is good.

No other way around it. Sorry.

That stuff is always a drag - sorry to see it. This, however, is what we call a "first world problem." Watch the evening world news tonight and compare "I scratched my Range Rover" to what you just watched. I read an article once where they quoted either the Dalai Lama or someone close to him, and it happened to be in relation to a story about a broken down car: Do not worry..."If it can be fixed, it is not a problem. If it cannot be fixed, it is also not a problem."
This can be fixed, so get it done and move on. ...and if it offers you any therapeutic value, you can confess on this forum what bonehead thing you did that caused the scratches

My 993tt was vandalized on my fourth day of ownership. It occurred in Las Vegas and my insurance company (Grundy) said I could take the car where ever I desired for repair. As I live on the east coast, after much research I selected Luftecknic in Richmond, VA. I was thrilled with the results (perfect). My only regret is that I sold the 993 instead of the 991C2S Cab that I purchased while waiting for the 993 to return home. I don't know if they would do a Range Rover but as far as Porsche goes they must be among the best. Good luck, but I must ask....aren't Range Rovers supposed to be the ultimate rough and tumble off road vehicle?...so what's a scratch on the door to mean? Get it all fixed just before you sell.

Thanks for all the advise, guys. I'm much calmer now, haha. Although I'd better get it fixed quickly, as I keep getting an irresistible urge to bang my head against the wall every time I look at the gashes. This is the dumbest thing I've done in the last decade.

Did it hurt much when she hit you with it?

Sucks man. I had a hard door ding under the front passenger's door handle on my old Cayenne. Looked so minor, but to fix it correctly because it was so close to the neighboring door it required removal of the door handle and blending of the paint to the rear passenger door. Quoted about $2500 at a body shop with some very nice cars in it. At least it's just a car.

I had my 2007 Audi S5 for a month, it was probably one of two in the state, and this guy hit me lightly with his pick-up. I was livid, but he was so apologetic. He calls his insurance company while I'm standing there, tells them what happened and that it was all his fault. He then tells them to talk to me about what I want to do and hands me his phone!

It got fixed very well and it all worked out. We are human, relax!
