Ongoing change over valve issues on 991
#76
2013 C4S - Had this issue just 1 week after I bought the car with ~19000 miles in May 2018. No change in behaviour of the car noticed apart from the CS error. Took 1 day and about $500 to find and fix the problem by the dealer. Just one COV (don't know which one but the rear bumper didn't go off) replaced. Let's see how the other 7(?) go...

Bringing mine in tomorrow for no heat. This is the 2nd or 3rd time it's happened. I replaced one COV in 2015, now the heat isn't working again sometimes. Of course it will work tomorrow when I go to the dealer but I will ask them to change it our regardless.

Tech replaced the heat exchanger COV. Showed me the original "C" part COV and where the seal fails and gets water intrusion causing it to be intermittent/fail. Showed me the new "F" version and installed it with the wiring harness. He said they see these periodically fail. Car is a 2014 built in Feb 2014.

Recently purchased a 2014 991.1 turbo with 37k miles. Out of warranty. Noticed no heat last night. I assume it's the heat exchanger COV. Has PNA been replacing these parts under a recall campaign since this is a known problem?

Anyone know where the COV is for the heat exchanger is located? I'm out of warranty and would like to fix it myself I don't seem to have any heating as others here have described. Thanks. 2012.5 CS

How do I know which version valve I have? My PSE is not working and want to start by replacing the COV, but not sure if I need the new harness as well or just the COV unit. Can I find this out by build date? My car was built late 2013 as a 2014 Model.

Me too. They have had the car since Monday am. I told the SA that it was the COV. He said he noted on the work order my comment. Yesterday he bull****ted me that they were working hard on it but couldn't figure out the problem. Today he said , "oh yeah, it turned out to be the COV even though it was coding fine." I have been traveling all week and don't have the time to **** with this. Need heat, I will see what the actual bill says tomorrow. The SA has been great, though. Offered to drop a loaner at my house since this is dragging. I have another vehicle so I declined. They also called me an Uber limo when I dropped the car off. I own other BMWs and Mercedes now. The customer service at the Hendricks P dealership in Charlotte is way beyond those dealerships even though they are all Hendricks.

Do you mean vacuum line unplugged from the muffler? I had a new valvtronic exhaust system installed and the shop told me there was no vacuum when pressing the PSE button. The button lights up fine and there are no errors.
