Default dropped my 991s off for 30k mile service and...

the dealer gave me a 2014 Cayman S to drive. WOW that is a great car. Even though I love my 991s, I'm tempted to trade it for one.

Very great Porsche, indeed. That's why Porsche keeps it "underpowered", to protect the 911 ca$h cow.

My closest dealership has a Carrera GT, an F430 and a 997 GT3RS in the showroom. Maybe I can talk them into one of those to drive when they do my oil change.

How was it in a straight line though? I've driven one on an autocross sort of track and loved it accept for when I went full throttle. I've always thought Carreras (including mine) were underpowered, so I've had a hard time taking the Cayman seriously for a purchase.

There's a thread either in the 987/981 forum here or maybe 6speed or Planet 9 about (I think they're called) BCG Motorsport taking donor base 981s and putting a 400hp 3.8 991 engine in for around $20k with engine swap. 265 to 400hp for $20k is a pretty good price for a 981 "power kit", warranty issues notwithstanding. Sorry, too sleepy and lazy to look for link for you...

I didn't find the Cayman S necessarily underpowered. It was plenty fast for street use.

It's BGB Motorsports and the cost is $25k:

That's why I put underpowered in parentheses as compared to the Carrera.

I got an A6 when I dropped my car off for clearbra install. As much as I liked the S5 I traded in for the 991, the A6 was a pig. Granted, it had summer tires when I was driving it in 5+ inches of snow, but even on dry pavement, it wallowed in tighter turns.
