Car Seats in a 991?
Hi,
I'm considering a new 2013 C4 Coupe. I have a 4 year old and 7 year old that require transportation to school in the morning. Otherwise as a family we use our mini van. Has anyone installed car seats in the rear of a coupe? if so, what brand and did your kids fit comfortably (sort of)?
Thanks,
kayjh

I have a two year old daughter who rides comfortably in her car seat in the back of my 991. It's a Safety 1st. I shopped around for a while to find a compact car seat. Specifically, it's the Safety 1st Guide 65 Convertible Car Seat, Victorian Lace. You'll find it on Amazon. It's great having the LATCH system back there.
Porsche also sells car seats which fit.

I have a 4 year old that uses the following:
It is only $80.00 with free shipping. Read the reviews and you will see at least seven 911 owners that say it works perfectly. I tried it out for first time last weekend and it fits well, nice and snug. Does not tilt. He was very comfortable.

Any pictures with the kid(s) in the car? Blank out the faces if you like (of course). Thanks for your help. With the older series 911s I believe there was a Porsche car seat that used a special seat belt interlock in the front passenger seat to shut off the airbag. Is this system still available or does the 991 weigh the passenger and shut off the airbag automatically? I was thinking I could put my 4 year old in the back and my 7 year old in the front?

The front passenger airbag should turn off if under about 90 pounds. Maybe you can use a booster seat for the oldest.

I've had a couple of 14 year olds from my bike team ride in my back seat, they thought the discomfort was worth it. I've also had a couple of smaller statured adults back there for short hauls, the seatlets in our car really are useable in a pinch.

Best fitting car seat for 4 year old is the Cosco... I have tired them all and this one does not touch the Alcantara headliner. As for the 7 year old, depends on how long the journey is but as a kid in London I had to endure long rides in a confined space.
