Ordering new vs buying slightly used.

Ordering new vs buying slightly used.
Just wondering what your opinions are about ordering your new Porsche vs buying one slightly used and saving some dough.
I found a used 2013 991 with 3,000 miles, with 90% of the options I was looking for on it, at a price $28,000 less than ordering it new today.
Would you be open to buying used or are you sticklers to only ordering new.
Pros and cons?

Next time I win the $650 million Powerball, I will ONLY buy new. Crated at the factory, flown to my door, not even one meter put on it.
'Til then, someone can drive my car 3,000 miles for a $28 k discount.

Well I sort of liken it to shopping for clothes. If you're of average height and girth, not too picky about style or color, and have a pretty basic taste, chances are you'll find what you need in the "for sale" rack.
If you're too tall, short, fat, are too picky, too fashion conscious and only want the latest styles... you have to pay full retail or worse yet (gasp!) you have to go to a bespoke taylor.
Of course you can fall into the latter category and you may find something that you like and fits you in the "for sale" rack, but that's more the exception rather than the norm.

I say keep looking for something that gets you closer too 100%.
That's still a lot of coin to be 90% when still spending about a 100 large.

If the dealer is selling it to you at $28k under sticker price, he probably bought it for at least $35k under sticker price. Assuming the original buyer received an $8000 discount when purchased new, and put 3000 miles on the car, it cost him about $9 per mile to drive that car. That would kill me as the original purchaser and is what makes buying a car like this such a good financial decision - that is of course assuming this car is what you want.

As a good buddy of mine says, if you're ok with someone else's farts on the seats and hpv sweat on the wheel take the discount.

My thought process was, if I am spending north of $100k on a car, FAR more than I ever spent in my life, then I wanted the dream car with all MY options. I couldn't find it used. I tried for 6+ months. So I ordered mine.

I would say take the car with the big savings and enjoy it for a while. If you don't like it or you decide that you must have certain options that it is missing you won't take nearly as much of a hit when you sell it and in the meantime you might just find exactly what you are looking for. Just because you are spending $100K doesn't mean you have to spend $128K. In a year or two from now you might be able to take that $28K and buy a Macan with 3000 miles on it.

If the car is truly pristine (can not be told from new) I would buy the discounted car. After you drive it for a short while, you will not even think that it wasn't yours from 0 miles on the odometer.

I would look some more, chances are if you have time you can find something closer to the 100% of what you were looking for. If you have the chance for a large savings then go for it, as far as worrying if someone else farted in the seat, these seats are pretty nice and can absorb the odor pretty good...

I think this is a decision that only you can make for yourself.
Is that 10% that you do not like/ want worth 28k to you?
FWIW, I buy all my cars new but I keep them 5+ years, so I always get exactly what I want.

Porsche options are so expensive. It is nice to think about only paying for what you want especially if you can get a discount on the original build. P also does many 'little things' over the yrs to recognize the original owner but whether this is worth 28K....
