High Pitch Low Noise in Lower Gears (MT)

As the temps have gotten lower in NJ (30-40F), I noticed a noise pulling out of my driveway. In gears 1 & 2 and depressing clutch it is noticeable. Not loud but a definite high pitch sound. If you coast in neutral it disappears. Since it is not loud, you don't hear it when road noise increases. Since you can reproduce it by depressing the clutch, it seems related to the clutch or transmission. Oddly also seemed to disappear at ambient temps of 60F. Car has 800 miles on it to date. First guess was a throughout bearing but it is still there in gear.
Anyone else have this happen or any ideas? Car is going in Friday if the sound is present and it is cold enough out.

Okay, first you said you hear it in gears 1 & 2 and while depressing the clutch. So its there whether the clutch is in or out? But shift to neutral and it goes away? Then it could be gears or synchros. Sounds like gear whine, no big deal if its confined to a narrow RPM range (which it usually is) low level and especially if it only happens when cold. But it will be good to see how seriously Porsche takes this. I think you should push for a new X-51 like Nicoli....

I test drove two different MT cars during test drives that had a similar noise. I heard a high pitch ringing sound as I let out the clutch each time. I think it even did it when in neutral and stopped while letting out the clutch. I never found out what it was. I remember thinking that it was pretty annoying and wondered if all the MT cars had this problem.

OP's car has 800 miles. Still breaking-in?

If the gearbox needs a rebuild, what is the worst case scenario for this OP?
