Default Sound during U-Turn

Hello-

I have a brand new 991S with about 1100 miles. I noticed yesterday when I make a U-turn at a light etc. or turn the steering quite a bit I get noise from the tires/suspension. Is this normal? Before I take it to the dealer, I want to make sure I am not missing something obvious. Appreciate any help.

Normal. Crappy new hard compound in the P-Zero tires. Bet your outside temp is less that 50F.

Yes, crappy in wet and crappy in colder temps. Hope to replace them soon with Pilots.

Yes. Temperature outside is in the 30/40F. I guess nothing to worry about.

Are Michelin Pilot Super Sports a good replacement after these tires wear out. I have a leased car for 24 months so don't want to get something that will be a problem during lease return. Costco has good prices on Michelin Pilot Super Sports includes Road Hazard Warranty for no cost.

Yes, same here. Happens also when you reverse out of parking lot with steering lock applied ! Annoying, but doesn't hurt.

Makes me feel better!! I thought I had by mistake damaged the car somehow or something was wrong with the car. Porsche needs to do better and use OEM tires that don't have this issue.

That might mean delivering from factory with winter tires installed ;-)

It has nothing to do with the tires. Didn't you read the thread Lex linked to?

Well, by the time I had the tires all warmed up driving from McLean to the Nice Bridge via every back road you could think of, I tried to induce the problem in front of CAPT Billy's restaurant and failed. Warm tires--noise not a problem. I'm convinced it's the way a cold P-Zero behaves.

Never had the problem down in Coral Gables.

I used to experience the same thing on the P-Zeros in cold weather before the tires had an opportunity to warm up. Switched over to my winter setup over last weekend (PA4s) and haven't had an issue since, even in very cold temps.
