Sound during U-Turn
#20
Hello- I have a brand new 991S with about 1100 miles. I noticed yesterday when I make a U-turn at a light etc. or turn the steering quite a bit I get noise from the tires/suspension. Is this normal? Before I take it to the dealer, I want to make sure I am not missing something obvious. Appreciate any help.

Good one.
But seriously guys, its cold. The rubber on all tires is less pliable. The same motion that would cause warm tread to squirm makes cold tread skip and slide. That's where these sounds are coming from. Mine are even doing this now that we're down around freezing here.

I don't like the P-Zeros
Well this seems to be combination of caster angle difference on the 991, low temps, but mostly the P-Zero tires are not very good in cool & wet compared with similar performance tires.
Both my 991S and 981S have this problem. But worse is that traction in wet and cold is very poor on these tires. Moderate acceleration can break the rears loose, and semi-hard braking can get into ABS!
I drove my GT3-RS with worn cup tires yesterday in 22 degree weather and it wasn't that bad!
Never had traction this bad on my 997s with Mich or Bridgestones driving my cars all year around in cold wet weather. I'm considering getting rid of the P-Zeros if I end up keeping the cars long enough.
