Anyone have any experience or concerns with this 2-ton jack for my 991?

The main risk with all inexpensive jacks is hydraulic failure. The seals wear out. They are made for and generally fine for occasional use. Used to change oil or change summer/winter tires they will probably last many years. Used several times a month to change track tires, not nearly as long. Snap-On guy told me this and I thought he was just selling me until one day my cheap jack had a puddle of hydraulic fluid under it just like he said would happen. Luckily it was just sitting there. Could have failed while the car was up. Always use jack stands!

This is true. Unfortunately most of the companies that used to make high quality low profile jacks are no longer in business and most of the jacks, even the more expensive ones, are cheap junk made by the same manufacturers in China. Definitely only use a jack to get the car up on stands, and always have a backup system in case the car shifts and falls off the stands. Some old, or even your nice new wheels under the sills work great for this.

I have a 2.5 ton low profile Craftsman floor jack from Sears. Works great for wheels off detailing or when taking wheels in to the Tire Rack for new rubber.

If you just want a cheapo floor jack, get one from Harbor Freight. About $50 if you use a coupon (in almost any magazine). And heed Chuck's comments. Harbor Freight stuff is crap, but works just fine for occasional use items.

+1 on the Arcan 2.5 ton floorjack at Costco. Can't beat the price for an aluminum jack, it's well made and with Costco's return policy it's a no-brainer

I have the costco one for over 4yrs still going strong, $99 bucks is well worth it, I went thru 4-5 cars thru that jacks and many hours of mod on it. Just used it past Nov on the 50th Edition to clean and wax the wheels!!
