14 vs 18 way seat w leather interior prices

I appreciate your effort but it still doesn't make complete sense to me, cause I would assume that if you order 14-way with "leather interior" that the seats would be leather as well??
Meaning the cost for the leather interior in both is the same, and "full leather" one would assume would include leather seats as well, the difference shouldn't be so much. Should just be the cost of the leather seats + cost of the additional leather interior. Not sure if I am making sense lol.

Why are the 18-way seats $50 cheaper than the 14-way seats, when you opt for the “leather seats” option?
The 18-way seats come standard with the option “leather seats”. They are not available in “partial leather seats”. The cost for the 18-way seats themselves is $3825, with no additional cost for the option “leather seats”. (The backrest shells are NOT covered in leather on the 18-way seats)
The 14-way seats come standard as “partial leather seats” and cost $2320. The additional cost for the option “leather seats” is $1555.
Option “Leather seats”
18-way seats: 3825+0 = 3825
14- way seats: 2320+1555 = 3875
Difference is $50 in benefit of the 18-way seats
But why are the 18-way seats $1145 more expensive than the 14-way seats, when you opt for “full leather interior” option?
The additional cost for “Full leather interior”, for both seats is $3690. However, Porsche reduced the price of the 18-way seats by $360 because the backrest shells are not covered in leather on these seats.
Option “Full leather interior”
18-way seats: 3465+3690 = 7155
14-way seats: 2320+3690 = 6010
Difference is $1145 in benefit of 14-way seat

But why are you using the "partial leather seat" price and not the "leather seat" price in the 14-way in your calculation for full leather interior costs?? I think that is the crux of my confusion.

The base price of the 14-way seat is $2320, but that is with "Partial leather seats". To get the leather seats option you need to add $1555 for the "Leather seats"option, making the total price $3875.
The base price of the 18-way seat is $3825, but that is already with the "Leather seats" option. there is no partial leather seats for the 18-ways. The additional cost for "leather seats" is $0, making the total price $3825.
The best way to find this out yourself, is to configure 4 basic cars on the configurator.
1. Carrera with 14-way seats and leather seats option (premium package 14-way)
2. Carrera with 14-way seat and full leather interior option (premium package 14-way)
3. Carrera with 18-way seats and leather seats option (premium package 18-way)
4. Carrera with 18-ways eats and full leather interior option (premium packege 18-way)
Print out all these summaries and compare them with eachother...
On the summary are the seperate prices of these options and you will see why there are these price differences. It really is very simple when you see the separate prices of the seats and the leather options.

Because the price of full leather interior includes conversion of partial leather seat to full leather seat for 14way.

Digging up a good thread reg 14 v 18, I noticed when building my GTS I am forced to pay for full leather w 14 way.
So now the 18 is cheaper as partial/standard leather is allowed where with 14, though cheaper, ends up like $2k more due to full leather.
Knowing that, how does it change any minds? Specifically, if money is tight, and every dollar counts... Does one go 18/standard leather or 14/ full leather (4 way/standard would be cheapest but not an option for me--wife vetoed manual seats in a $12x,xxx car).
14 way worth extra $$?? Or better to put money towards aerokit?

The only thing more absurd than a 14 way seat is an 18 way seat. In leather, fabric, or any combination of that. I don't know who is more lost...Porsche the company or its customers.

So for me, the 14 was the only answer on a car I ordered -- both 4 and 18 have the shoulder bolsters. Wouldn't have mattered if it was $5000 more -- I'd have given up something else to get the 14s if I needed to save that $5000. Like PDK. But other people fit the 18s wonderfully and vastly prefer them. If both feel acceptable to you, I'd try to just sit in the 18s for an hour in the showroom, to see if those shoulders become uncomfortable.
2) As for the actual adjustments, bah. I'd have gotten the 4-way in a heart beat if it could have been ordered without wings. I don't care about any of those extra adjustments, and try to never think about them. For me, it's like adjustable coilovers -- I am always worrying if maybe I don't have quite the optimum setup when I have a car with infinitely adjustable coilovers and 9-way shocks. The differences are tiny, but still, should I turn the shock one more click? Should I lower the car one more turn?
3) My 149,000 dollar Turbo had manual fore-aft seats with only seatback recline and height adjustments electric. Only way the SPorts Seats used to come. That was completely perfect for me. Not that I would have minded electric fore-aft; I just didn't need it. My 2014 Wrangler has manual everything, even door locks, mirrors and window cranks, and I ordered that to get it that way. Like I said, once I get a seat set, I'm done for as long as I own it. (Full disclosure: wife doesn't drive any of my cars, by her choice. I am uber-happy her SUV has memory seats since I drive it whenever we're together.)

So, as a follow up... I went and sat in all three seats. As a recap, on the GTS, the 4 ways are cheapest (obviously), and next cheapest are the 18 ways BECAUSE if you select the 14 way seats you also must pay for full leather @ $3800.
But in for a penny, in for a pound--I'll buy whichever is the most comfy between 14 and 18.
It did not take long: in just a few moments I knew the 18 way are the best for me. The 14's felt like two vertical rods as back support right along my shoulder blades. I'm 6 feet tall/200 pounds. Very happy to have taken the time to sit in them.
If you are ordering a Porsche, highly suggest you "test drive" them right there in your dealer's showroom!
