The little bit of my post that you chose to quote here was so long ago and so out of context that it took me forever to go clear back to the beginning and read through everything, after which I realized two things: 1) everything I wrote is crystal clear and 2) I have no idea what you're questioning!
But now that I have read through the thread I have to say, the price they're charging is exhorbitant! It would be one thing if they could claim to have developed something, but no, if I'm reading it right they simply hack Porsche Motorsport mapping onto your car. And not even a good hack, but one that has to be tuned and tweaked. Couple years back I had a PCA bud in tech, his company copied a whole 20HP chip in an afternoon for next to nothing. Those guys at least produce a chip! These guys are basically (again, if I'm reading it right) doing what amounts to a firmware upgrade. Odds on bet- post an ad at Microsoft, or Craig's List for that matter, get some kid to hack it for $500. Throw in a pizza he'll probably do your steering and suspension while he's at it.

"Viezu tune is using Porsche Motorsport mapping" is not an entirely accurate statement...they may be using a "canned" or "cloned" map, but Motorsport continually changes mapping on the fly based on any number of variables at any given event, or engine configuration (i.e. sprint vs endurance).

Fabspeed's dyno crapped out as they were doing a McLaren today so they could not dyno my car but they have offered to flash my ecu back to stock next week, run the dyno and then reflash the ecu to the Viezu tune, which is a Porsche Motorsport mapping. Will post dyno as soon as I get them.

I would agree.
I posted some time ago the remarkable difference a remap made to an '06 GTO in 1st through 3rd gears @ WOT.....night and day. And, I know I can hold the throttle to the floor in neutral on my F250SD and it will never go above 4000 rpm.
So last week our Volvo still under warranty needed a new engine due to excess oil consumption.
I talked to the mechanic privately about the entire issue he explained the new engine will also come with new mapping, in his words, engine protection. WOT will come on progressively, and sudden high RPM throttle closures will be ramped instead of snapped.
If manufacturers mindfully calibrate driveline systems effectively detuning the car in certain scenarios...........well, that is their intent.
I would belive altering that program would come with consequences, especially if an engine warranty issue should arise.
Just MHO of course.

I'd like to understand this as well. Is Porsche motorsport supporting the base carrera engine and ecu? Obviously the engine and ecu used in the motorsport program are different. Are they racing our engines and street ecus supported by Porsche? That would be very cool.

Interesting info. So PMNA just seals the motor or do they also tweak them? I doubt they do any assembly here. I know BGB is on the site maybe they can weigh in on Porsche's involvement with their program.
