Default Base 991 at Pocono Raceway - Red Run Group, June 2013

Base 991 manual, no performance options, street tires, no modifications.

I think I had the ventilated seat on to keep me cool - LOL!

BTW, the guy in the 996 Turbo was so fast in the straights I could not get passed him...

156 mph on this configuration. 167 mph on the tri-oval configuration.

FWIW, when I did that in my 996 gt3 (and my 996 cup but I was gear limited) I would hit about 173-178 mph in the first configuration, but that was on slicks etc etc. Not bad at all for a stock carrera on stock tires.

Fantastic speeds. I ran there a looong time ago in my 78 SC. Topped out at around 145 - all out of gears and torque, and just sat there driving.

Truth be told it is more driver nerve than car. Had I carried 10-15 mor mph through the bowl my told speed would have been that much faster. I am a little chicken with that NASCAR wall! The car would have done the 180mph top speed (easily). The driver on the other hand...

Yep, its all about what speed you are willing to carry on that track. Pretty fun when you start pushing it a little but damn does it feel weird. Running the tri-oval in something like a Viper ACR or GT2 would probably be pretty interesting as well.
