Adding PSE to my 2012.5 C2S Cab...
All, Just confirmed with my LPD that I will be adding the factory PSE to my 2012.5 C2S Cab. Have been wanting to do this for some time now and just now getting around to it...price is $3150 (installed). Question, is there any reason to keep the stock C2S exhaust parts that are replaced with the PSE components? Can't imagine switching back to stock from the PSE system, but would like your input....

Once PSE you will never go back. This is my 2nd 991 but 1st w PSE, my 1st was a base 991 7 speed MT now have an 991S w/PDK and night and day better experience. PSE truly worth every penny. Enjoy it, I'm sure you can sell the other on eBay.

I'm not sure of this, but suspect that I won't have a spare set of tips since I'm adding this to my C2S which already has the tips and they shouldn't be charging me for a duplicate set of tips? I thought the PSE and S tips were the same? That may not be the case though, and if I do have my S tips left over I will likely sell them.

Just dropped off the 991S for the pse installation. Excited to get it back with a more aggressive sound. The lead tech (a guy I trust who will be doing the install) asked me if I wanted it set up factory or via a hidden button in the console somewhere? I asked him why I wouldn't go with the factory set up (on/off switch in the console) and he said the stock set up was fine except that in pse mode, there will be a slight "quiet" spot at around the 2800rpm level due to the Euro noise requirements (that's apparently the RPM that they measure the sound decibels in Europe)? Apparently, some customers choose to have a hidden button in the console and the pse is always on and somehow this eliminates the 2800rpm "quiet" spot...not sure that last part makes any sense to me?

What he is offering is likely an aftermarket solution to completely open the valves all the time. Cargraphics sells one with a remote for $395. I think FVD has one too. The disadvantage is that you have to hit a separate button. I would likely just setup it up like factory and see if you like it and if you want a bit more sound at 3000 rpm, consider one of the aftermarket solutions.
FYI, the non-PSE exhaust is even weirder, it opens up full at idle, closes immediately off idle and then opens a bit as the revs come up (more in sport and sport+).

Thanks everyone for your replies, very helpful!! He did indeed mention it would be open all the time, but I mistakenly thought he was referring to the pse being on all the time and I would not be able to turn it off (hope that make sense). Sounds like he was telling me that when the pse is on, it would be open all the time?
He is going to set it up stock factory for now and offered to change it for me if I decided I'd rather have it the way he was describing. He sounded like he could fairly easily wire a separate switch in the console to accomplish this?
Kitwetzler, funny you mention the non-pse S exhaust and what it does right off of idle, I was wondering what was responsible for the change in exhaust note, (right off of idle), that sounds like the engine is "chuffing/farting", crass description I know but I can't think of a better way to describe the noise
