You are probably right about the collectible value of this car but I am buying mine to enjoy the driving. I think the wheels will actually look good but that is a matter of opinion. If I don't like them they will be easy to replace. One thing I do like about these wheels is that they are not centerlocks which i am personally not a fan of for a street car. That is something you have to live with on the new GT3 and probably on the next GTS.

If it is anything like the 40th AE vs. base 996 there will be a lot of happy people. I think they had a hard time moving the 04 40AE and dropped the price from 90000 to 70000 in some cases. Maybe the same thing will happen, but on a more expensive scale.
It sucks that I need to wait about 6 or 8 years for the price to get affordable for me.

Just seen the 911_50 in person. Porsche has one on a Cross-Canada tour, here in Calgary for the day. It was in Geyser Grey with Agate Grey interior, and it is a pretty unique color, just not sure if it's for me. Beautiful car though. It had LED headlights which look really funky on the car. Also not sure on those as I have LED's on my '09 Escallade & I just don't think they are as good as the Bi-Xenon's. Anyone have any experience with the LED's on Porsche?
