With the sports steering wheel I lose all the multi-functions of the other wheel so I opted to add voice control. I also figured that using VC would be a lot less distracting than to hunt for the right buttons to push or stalks to twist. My wife is especially stymied by controls so I also thought that it would benefit her to be able to state what she wants. My order is supposed to lock tomorrow so any feedback as to your experiences with VC would be most helpful.
Note how I highlighted that: Those of you who didn't get VC and who are happy with your stalks and buttons are of no help in this discussion as I'm not asking for a comparison between the two options. I'm asking for owners with VC if they like it and use it and have success with it or are critical of it.

I find the stalks work great and don't mind using them. I have voice control in my DD but don't miss it in the 911. Plus I can talk to my phone for making calls (iPhone with Siri).

Voice control via the stalk works great; I use it primarily for easily placing cellphone calls; "Call Dianne", for example.

I use it primarily to make calls and move from tuner to map. Works fine. The Audi I used to own had it and it understood me a little better but I'm also still learning the commands. It doesn't like when I forget and use the Audi commands

I have it but don't use it. I usually switch between three different cars, and it is hard to remember all of the unique nuances to each of them, I just command the old fashioned way, with buttons.

I traded an Audi A8 w/ full voice command features for my 991, w/out any. I loved the tech features in the Audi, but quickly learned to use the phone and other features with the stalk on the right hand of the sport steering wheel. I'm fine with the current 991 set up.

Voice control seems to work really well...my wife asks me to do something and I do it. It's ok, cuz she's super-hot.

Oh...you mean VC on the car?!?! Don't have it, had it on previous cars, don't miss it.
