Thanks again, Mike-In-CA. Great info. When I get one, I will have it set up that way too.
Sorry to be a pain, but another quick question... if it's hard-wired, how do you quickly yank it down when the coppers appear?
Also, I have to take a close look at that headliner area on my car.... Maybe I can fabricate some sort of small bracket that can be wedged in there, so that the unit isn't directly attached to the windshield?
What a dopey cat-and-mouse game they make us play! When I bought the car, the temporary registration that the dealer stuck to the inside of the windshield blocked an area of about 25 square inches. Certainly, the profile of a radar detector is far less than that.

Escort introduced the Passport Max today (or yesterday)

Wondering if they're going to release a ci version like the 9500. Looks like a nice unit.

My problem with Passport is that every year they introduce a new improved version that "raises the bar once again." but is never any better then the V1.

It's a bunch of marketing bs. I hate companies that treat their customers like idiots before they ever walk in the door.

WOW! I am running a 9500ix, which I love aside from a blown speaker which was premature IMHO. Clearly this new MAX is a quantum leap in advanced radar detection technology with advanced HD military roots! (cough sarcasm cough)
In all seriousness that is by far the worst promotional material I have ever seen. It looks like a sham wow commercial shot in '94 with less talented pitch men. Is their core buyer high school kids with ricers or something? I thought they were going to offer me two if I called in the next ten minutes or try to sell me some extenz.
They should have just called it the escort 10 with oled display. I usually buy the new ones every 3 years or so and sell the other one to a friend or throw it in one of the slower rides. I almost want to not buy it because the commercials were so painfully awful.
