Default list of recalls on 2012 991S

Hi i'm buying a 2012 991S wondering if there is a comprehensive list of recalls listed anywhere in these posts. Want to make sure all the recall items are taken care of, its a Mar 2012 build. Thx

Call your dealer with the VIN and they can tell you if there are any outstanding service notices for that particular car.

Mine is a Jan. 2012 build. It had in the last year several PDK software revisions. The mechanical updates were, addition of plastic sleeve or similar part to prevent gas line chaffing against something, new 0 rings in the AC lines, replacement of 7 (I think) electrical switches (crossover valves) to correct water sealing problems and a week in the body shop to refit new rubber seals in the font of the firewall.

I read in a thread here somewhere that the seals and switches issues were resolved on cars built after April 2012. Cabs had someithng fixed re the top mechanism. That thread also had all the campaign numbers. You might try searching for those terms. The other things on early cars seemed to be noisy trim mostly, requiring dealer tinkering. I had a door card replaced under warranty to correct a persistent rattle.

I got the list of 2 recalls that were done on my new 991 its a March 12 build:
#WC34 - Reprogram BCM, #WC43 Replace change over valves. No idea what that means. Seems I read in these posts about sunroof clips, some gas line issue. Perhaps those were one-off's on some builds, i dont know.
Also how does one know that their car has the latest version of the PDK software or PCM software and whether its out of date?

Go to a dealership. Provide your vin. The tech will look at a listing of all revision/recall campaigns and a database that dealers feed PCNA about cars they have serviced. Other information is available from the computer in the car, readable by the dealer service tools. Most of the rattle fixes are one offs that dealers do in response to complaints. Some have been typical, some unique, all fixable as far I I know- it is after all a mechanical device.

My build was also a March 2012, it is not a PDK, and I only got the "#WC43 Replace change over valves." which I found out about when I took my car in for the first oil change ( won't mention the mileage so as not to start a new thread). I think it was a same day type of service.

They are the electric switches that actuate mechanisms to route air or fluids around. I believe there are 7 of them in a 991S to handle moving air in the intake manifold, oil and water in various coolers and interchangers and the like. I think the issue was the insulation on them to prevent moisture and corrosion.
