No affiliation.
Just makes me wonder how much discount you can get on a new 991...

Great deal for someone. Just reconfirms my beliefs that porsche lease residuals are inflated like a fat man after a barbecue.

It sounds more like the owner's situation changed and is trying to offload this recent purchase, knowing a lower price will move this 911 quickly.

Just imagine what a dealer would offer as a trade!

Lease residuals are quite inflated, great time to lease a 991 relatively cheap--I say that understanding that of course it's still more then average persons mortgage. However, residual on low mileage C2 cab is 74% for 27 months. After taking 9% off sales price, you only have to cover 17% depreciation over 27 months. That makes a damn cheap lease for such an incredible car; I didn't need a new 991 cab, but man I couldn't resist!

Understood but that does not mean he is selling under market value. Presumably the dealer offered him less and the car is not yet sold.

By low mileage do you mean a lease in with a low annual mileage allowance? How many miles per year has the 74% residual? Or, did you mean that you could lease a used low mileage 991 with a 74% residual?

New 991 C2 Cab, residual is 74% for a 27 month lease with 5000 miles/year. For a weekend only driver that's a relatively cheap lease.

the problem is that people are adding options that mean nothing on resale..

137k used to be a turbo... now it's just an S coupe...
137k used to be a GT3RS.... ditto

his asking is not that bad, not too much loss considering base msrp is under 100k.

i paid 82k OTD for my 991 and sold it for the same 82k OTD to a dealer... goes to show you... pick exactly what options you need... or add them knowing they wont add value later.

Use the following link to plug and chug the numbers for a lease:

www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

The residual on 991 Cab (non S) was 74% for 27 months with 5000 miles/year. Money Factor is .002 or 4.8% interest rate. As I said its just plug and chug into the calculator and you can get the lease amount depending on which vehicle you choose. I got 9% off MSRP which made lease very cheap, it seems like most are getting 5-8% depending on location and inventory. This was 3rd Porsche I bought from dealer in 2 years, so they may have been alittle more generous/aggressive with pricing.

Another great place for information is Edmunds Forum, it usually has all the manufacturers lease rates and residuals. This helped me out a lot in understanding where I was with lease calculations, plus it keeps the dealer honest if you have your calculations done in advance! http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0cc27b

Hope this helps.

I've driven my 991s 19k+ miles since June 2012, so leasing is out for me.

Thanks, yes, that was helpful. I also use Edmunds and usually just use a calculator or a spreadsheet to compute my lease numbers. Your 9% off MSRP comment helped a lot as that was the critical variable I was missing regarding how much people are getting off these days. This is probably one of the best times to lease a 911 since residuals are high and discounts are plentiful. Thanks again!

Exactly! My decent speced 2010 GT3 stickered at $121K. To be honest, I wouldn't even pay $118K for a plain Jane C4S.
