they actually do! Plus, they eat grit to digest their food, and add to our misery!!!!!

Dawn dish washing detergent. Mix it 50/50 with water in a spray bottle. Spray it on liberally and let it soak in several minutes. Rinse with water. Repeat until the junk starts to loosen and hit it with the pressure washer. The Dawn will strip any wax, so rewax the areas that it touches.

Bird poop is highly acidic. The only thing that will take that off is polishing compound with a fairly aggressive pad. Depending on how long it sat there, you might need a wet sand, although I don't think you will. I agree with the recommendation of a professional detailer. Anyone that can do paint correction can get that out for you.

Carry Griot's Speed Shine and microfiber towels at all times. Early removal is essential as its the acid chemistry that does the most harm. Spray droppings, let soften, gently wipe. Repeat as necessary to remove doo. Never, ever press hard, this will only grind the grit in the droppings into the paint. Then when you get home: Clay, polish, wax. Or you can take others advice and pay someone to do all these exact same things.

this, i carry detailer and a MF towel in the boot for this very reason.

Use a 1:1 solution of Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water (the alcohol content acts as a drying agent, which will extract the acid), then thoroughly flush with water to rinse away any remaining grit.

Finish off with a gentle application of Nu Finish (8-bucks at Walmart), which will remove any remnants of the dropping and leave a protective coating.

Car enthusiasts who park in areas that are prone to bird droppings often carry a small bottle of club soda in their car: shake bottle and spray onto dropping ASAP.

I do know that you have to get off as soon as you can. Same thing happende to my M5 - I couldn't get it completely off. Went to a detail shop - they wet sanded it and buffed it - still there. What happened was the acidic nature of the bird pooh eat through my clear coat. Ended up have the hood repainted. NICE!

So - as soon as you see it - get it off!
