Default Tint

This is 20% tint and it is too dark. Hard to see sometimes especially at night. Get the PSE.

Nice pics Hammer! Have any of the back?

Detroit, 20% looks beast but I can understand poor visibility at night. Did you also tint the very front?

I think I'm going to do 30% everywhere but keep the very front non-tinted OR 20% on the very back and 30% on the sides. I don't think I'll ever tint the very front.

Also, I'm going to go check out PSE at the dealership to see what all the fuss is about. Do you think PSE on a base makes the same sound as PSE on an S?

not the greatest pic, but for this purpose you do get an indication of the rear window tint looking through the front of car (windshield is clear.)

Here's mine with 20% tints all around (3M color stable):

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...N_tDUXMfLXM0Eo

They are a wee bit on the dark side at night, but I found that 30% was too light for me (for the aesthetics). Probably 25% would be ideal, but I think most tints don't come in that level.

I agree that you should have it match all around though... I live in CA and haven't gotten a ticket yet for dark tints (knock on wood), on this or my two previous cars. I think the key is to roll down all your windows when you get pulled over; they just need to be able to see you.

ww007,

OMG that is the most beautiful interior I have ever witnessed. Carbon fiber....black carpeting deviation....absolutely BRILLIANT!

I think you're right, 25% is ideal, are you sure tints don't come in that? I'm seriously considering 20% in the back and 30% on the sides. I doubt it would be noticeable.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you also remove the 911 logo from the back? It does look really clean with just the P O R S C H E. The "Carrera S" is a little too much I'd say.

Also, notice how Detroit Shooter's 991 has black door seals/ frames whereas yours, ww007 is aluminum trim (forgive me for not knowing the exact term). Which comes standard on the 991? I prefer the black one over the aluminum.

Hammer, thanks a lot for the pic!

Also, if you get pulled over. Can you legally not pull up your windows if an officer asks?

Since you are opting for the PDK, I would highly recommend getting the Sport Chrono for additional shifting versatility

Thanks David for the advice.

I actually called my dealer and he said the order is locked :/

So no PSE or Sport Chrono but this is only a 27 month lease (probably less if they give me an incentive). I will get those two options on my next car if I am lucky enough.

Jon - go with a high end tint like Spectra PhotoSync if you can find an authorized dealer in your area. Here is a test that we did in-house to make sure this product performs. We put PhotoSync to test compared to a 5% limo tint:

Here in CA it seems it's the Highway Patrol that likes to ticket for front side tinting although a friend of mine saw a city police car pulling up next to him and rolled down his two front tinted windows which then prompted the cop to pull him over. Cop told him he was ticketing him because he tried to hide it from him.

I am getting my windows tinted in a few days. Anyone have pics of a white 991 with tinting? I think I'm going with the 20%.

Hehe thanks I'm sure there must be some brand out there that has a 25% shade, just not 3M (that I know of).

I did the model delete option, which was free. I like the clean look, and I thought the "911" under the P O R S C H E looked a bit odd. I did get the official Porsche license plate frame with the "911" on it, so that should make up for it.

The aluminum trim is not standard, and is an extra-cost option. The black frame is standard.

Don't know, but either way, I don't think it's a good idea to **** off the cop when he pulls you over.

That's odd; the cop must have been really ****.

Like I said, I've never had a problem with dark tints, even when I've been pulled over (I live in LA). And I drive past cops all the time with my tinted windows blatantly showing (I'm more worried about my speed than my tints when I see them, lol). From what I've been reading, this seems to be more of a problem in the NY / East coast area.
