991 Suspension Walkaround
If you haven't had a chance to get the wheels off for a closer look...this is pretty interesting.
This car is equipped with PDCC, which this shows in detail. Very easy to see how it works.

Before,I had in mind huge expenses to service the suspension out of warranty and thinking it will probably only be done by the dealer, but it doesn't look that scary...

The concept is really simple actually. There are hydraulic actuators at each corner that either increase or decrease in pressure depending on what's happening with steering angle, lower control arm location, and I'm sure a bunch of other things. Simple in concept but I'm sure the complexity is extraordinary when you look at it from a hardware and software perspective. Some really talented engineers behind this...
I didn't want it at first but now I kind of regret passing on it.

Have the PDCC, SPASM and can't say enough about how well it works.
Allows for a smoother ride despite the stiffer sport suspension.
Pulled a 1.02g on a highway cloverleaf with the stock tires!
None of the nanny lights came on so there is lots more room to explore . . . OK, SOME more room.

Awesome. Good to see other 991 drivers out there driving the cars like they were meant to be driven. I think you are getting pretty close to the limit if you're in that neighborhood. Have seen several magazine tests with PDCC equipped cars in the 1.04g range on the skidpad.
In Sport Plus the PSM limits are pretty damn high in my experience, so that doesn't mean you're not pushing. You will get several degrees of slip before it intervenes.

No problem. I got a lot out of this. Actually, I have a new found respect for Edmunds.com after reading through this. This is the kind of in depth thing the mainstream US car mags should be covering either in print or online.
