What percentage off have you guys been seeing for 991's sitting at the dealers. The dealer by me wont go above 6%. That's is the lowest I have ever been offered. Every other time I got around 8%. (on a 2006 C2S, 2009 C2S Cab and 2011 GTS Cab) Let me know.

the consensus is
4-5% normal
6-8% good
8-10% old stock or just flat out stellar negotiating skills
I received 6.5% plus 10,000 mile service off mine and was happy. That was in a smaller market though. Car was c2 on the lot but no miles just delivered. Many people have reported receiving 8% with little difficulty though. I can imagine even more so with the 14s already being ordered. Try the search function there have been threads on this.

It's seasonal in many places. For the best discounts, buy your 981 or 991 in the late fall, and your Cayenne in early spring.

I live in Florida where 991's are a dime a dozen and the dealers have a 12 month a year selling opportunity. I was able to get 5% discount on an ordered car from a major dealer. Another major dealer was offering up 1% like that was a gift from heaven.

Getting 8% on custom build C4S with June slot. our 5th car from same dealer, 3 Porsches and an Audi over last 6 years or so. Another dealer offered 8%, had bought two Porsches from them, but with no confirmed build slot and another 4% with a June slot.

I was also able to get 8% on a 2013 order from a dealer I've done business before.

I've been in the market for a new 991S for a few months now and haven't found what I'm looking for yet. Found one close to what I want in L.A. and, after requesting an 8% discount, was told by the internet sales manager that there isn't a dealership in North America that will sell a 991 for 8% off MSRP. I told him that I thought an 8% discount was fair for a '13 sitting that's been sitting on the lot for awhile, and is now effectively a model year old. He says it's lower than the Porsche employee price and simply not possible. Offered me 3.5% and wouldn't budge. Needless to say, I'm still looking...

He wont budge because he doesnt have to. Porsche sales have taken off in March and are continuing very strong in April. It's going to be record spring sales for the company in the U.S.

Follow-up.
Do the deal.
Fly to dealership. Drive it home. Then you are about 1/2 way through the dreaded break-in period.

Shop around. I found a wide spread in discounts in the LA market. Inventory is an issue in that the dealers with the bigger inventories seem to offer the worst deals. But, if you're flexible on your build or you are going to custom order, you can score good deal. I found 5% to be the norm before serious negotiating and 6-7% to be very achieveable. 8% would be a stretch but maybe OK as we get to the end of the model year.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. Just picked up my brand new 991S Cabriolet this morning! Got a 6% discount from a truly fantastic salesman. The whole experience worked out perfectly. Now the fun begins!

I've had my 991S Cabriolet for only 12 days, and I already have 1000 miles on it! It's unbelievable (guards red/black). And it's as quiet as the coupe.
I leased mine for 2 years, but I'm already thinking that I made a big mistake and should have bought it! Maybe I'll work out something..lol

Well done! It really is a pleasure to deal with a good salesman right? Judging by your avatar, you're in for a good time. Get your ready, there is going to be a show.
