I'll attack the small things that I feel you would really appreciate even though they're minor.
Glass sunroof - completely worth it. No brainer if you take the sunroof. 2 tone exterior looks amazing.
Sport design wheel - much nicer design than the regular steering wheel. non heated, but that's the price you pay. Paddles for PDK is a huge plus.
Smokers package - extra always on 12v + cover the hole.
Two tone interior - IMO practically a necessity for light interior - even black has some glare on the windshield. As for the PSE, I don't think it's a good bang for buck, but that's just me. stock is plenty exciting. Pass on the Bose too, not worth the $$ for me either.

+1 smoking package. Some guys like the big hole for holding things but the smoking package lid gives a much more finished look to the center console. Check it out on the configurator 3D. What this doesn't show though is that half the storage area is lost to the power source and removable ash tray. Gain power and appearance, lose a few cubic inches.
Since budget is a big factor you really should drive and compare the 2 and 4 versions. Even in snow the C2 is very capable (with proper snow tires) so it really comes down to driver feel and preference. Do your best, even if that turns out to be comparing 2S with 4S.

agree with the 2 tone black/luxor...the dash glare is a know issue by porsche and they dont seem to do anything about it..according to some in bright sun at certain time of the day, the glare is bordering on making the car un-driveable..
just what i heard from a friend of mine who has a blue with luxor..

Are red gauges that terrible? I have seen a ferrari with them and loved it. DOnt know what they would be like on a 911 - cant find one with them!
I would love the S, but I would get a 4S, and the price jumps alot. I have to have pdk, sorry. I am looking at trying to get an MSRP of around 107-8, and then get a 7% discount to take me to a 100k.
I want to just thank all of the people who have responded. This is my first porsche, and it is an adventure to think about.
Dash glare - isnt the platinum dark enough so it isnt an issue?
Lastly, someone has a ducktail white car - that looks amazing, but not sure if that is even possible.
