Default New Porsche software estimating dealer delivery 6 weeks after build?

I just spoke to my salesperson on my 991 CS order. The car has a build date in the first week of April and a projected dealer delivery date on June 7. He said that the new software that Porsche just put into play is giving these extended delivery dates. The car is suppose to reach the port by April 20. I don't understand why Porsche had to build in so much wiggle time for delivery. Perhaps they are tired of the constant hassle of buyers waiting for the cars that they figured it better to over estimate delivery dates than under estimate them.
Anyone else hear of this recently?

I think the build-date is when it starts production. I had a "production completion date" of February 7 and I am picking it up tomorrow (March 9). (On boat February 12, docked into Rhode Island March 1, arrived at Delaware dealer March 7).

I think my "build date" was in mid or late January.

My completion date was Feb 14 and my dealer let me know when the car was in the paint shop on Feb 8. It was on the vessel right away by Feb 15th and supposed to dock in RI on March 1. It docked a few days ahead of schedule on Feb 26. I received word yesterday that it came off the truck in Pittsburgh at the dealer and I pick it up tomorrow. Woo hoo!

I placed my order days before an unspokenfor allocation was to lock, so my total time from order to delivery was exactly 2 months. Hard to get a custom order any quicker.

Based on an email that I received from my SA today, I have a production completion date of 3/22 and delivery is expected four weeks later. This is consistent with your time table.

Question

Is this "new software" manufacturing processes / factory enhancements software OR PCM/Car related software??

The software update was factory-dealer software for inventory control and delivery.

My car completed its build on 2/28 and departed on a vessel to Rhode Island on 3/3. My dealer (Hoffman Porsche) says that it should arrive to them around 4-1. Seems like a long time sitting at port. They are having difficulty finding the vessel name due to the new software.

Ok thanks. Got it now. I recall now that sales mgr mentioned tHis to me few times that it is going to improve granularity of details from when the car gets ready until delivery to customers. It is supposed to be a marked improvement vs what it has been

According to my dealer, my car was completed 2/19 and left Germany 3/8. Scheduled to arrive in San Diego 4/19 (I live in LA). Does anyone else think that's a long time between events??? From factory to boat was 17 days (actual), and from boat to dock over 6 weeks (estimated). What the frick...

I heard from a dealer that they seem to expect a 90day window from order to delivery on all ordered CS's. From most of the input, that seems to be about the right formula. Look for your car around the beginning on May.
