To be honest, I feel like I lost my father. Gary and I had developed a fast intense friendship after we met a year or so ago. Like I said, just asked him to come over and he drove up in a heartbeat.
We went and had lunch in Lancaster and he was so gracious to my wife. I think he saw in Merritt and I what he had with Cindy. I have never met a person who was so in love with his wife, even after her passing. He carried pictures in his wallet of Cindy like a father carries pics of his kids. Porsche was trying to fill the hole of his wife and I dont think it worked, I think he died of a broken heart.

I am a relatively new member here, but I always read every word that Gary wrote. A man who was passionate, interesting and informative. Like the rest of you I will miss him, his words and presence here on the board.

Reading back some of Gary's posts, I came across his choice of music when testing his Burmester. Here's a quote:
from this THREAD.
In remembrance I just got Mantovani's All Time Greatest Moments HERE. A collection of 120 orchestral classics from the 60s and 70s. Priceless!
[*]The Burmester.Took the time to find tracks to test it more than I could last night in freeway traffic. Played some Anthony Ventura and Mantovani cuts and then some Natasha Bedingfield and Dusty Springfield. I was seriously impressed.

So sad to hear about Gary's passing. Although I never had the pleasure to meet him in person, we had conversed via PM's multiple times, and being an engineer and Porsche enthusiast, I always felt a kindred spirit to him. May he rest in peace with his beloved Cindy. He will truly be missed.

I have lurked around rennlist for ages now,and even in the time that i have been here,i have always loved Gary's posts. As a person who might never get to own a 911 ever, and in a country where seeing 911s is not exactly a daily occurences, his remarkably detailed post allowed me to understand a lot of 911s,Porsche and cars in general.I am very sad to hear this news. His incredible knowledge and a wonderful, factual and lucid writing will be missed much.
Quite quite sad. Will miss you sir.A very sad first post for me.

Great info deturney; thanks for posting. I too have tried to find info on Gary without much luck. I've also sent an email to the president of Gary's chapter of PCA but haven't received a reply. Don't know why the hunt to find out more is proving to be so difficult.
