What option did you miss?

The change to aluminum changed the way existing paints look and bond, which calls for testing even existing colors, which can result in new paint chemistry, which calls for more testing to ensure durability, including resistance to fading, which while it still happens needs to appear consistent regardless of the different body materials used across the car. All of this takes time and costs money. Porsche does after all warrant PTS same as standard. This is Cliff Notes. Read Z356's Custom Ordering thread for a longer more detailed version.

adding on: though not available in the u.s. yet, i'll miss not having the sport buckets when they do come out. love the light weight, glass and carbon fiber seat shells, and the ease of retrofitting a 5pt harness for my first DE...

I expect that the 'Sport Buckets Seats' will be allowed to be specified on just about any 'custom order' 991 or 981 once the 991 gt3 start to be delivered in the US very late this year. That is also when they will probably allow 'Alcantara' seat inlays, 'Alcantara' door panels,'Alcantara' steering wheels & 'Alcantara' manual shifters to be ordered by 991 customers. Right now, both the 'sport bucket seat' & 'Alcantara' interior options are being reserved for the introduction of the most sporting of the 991 models - the gt3's!

Carbon seats: not bad
And, even though there's no height adjustement, the seat rails are tilted. So the further forward you move the seat, the higher the seat gets

Advanced
missed options
Mine are pretty simple:
1. PCM -$5100
2. TPMS- $1000
3. Rain sensing wipers and auto dim rearview mirror-$ 800
4. PDK surrounds and dash strips in leather...aluminium way too reflective and blinding in sunlight. $1000
All the above are expensive options for South African spec cars.
