You will get a different opinion from everyone. I have the ducktail and love it and no one else's white 991 (which is a common color now) looks like mine in the large metroplex of DFW. And there are a lot of Porsches in DFW, no exclusivity at all for Porsche owners here. I like the sport design front fascia so much better than the regular. Having said that, if I had not ordered it from the factory I would not be willing to spend the money on it afterward. Too many other great things to spend money on!

I think it is 85, but it could be 80. Hard to tell given the rate of acceleration, one eye on the rear view mirror, one eye on the speedo and the other on the road ahead. And it goes past horizontal.

$6K for a spoiler is nutz. Lots of things I'd rather spend $6K on.

In my case the wife was all for the Ducktail and so was I. She would have preferred the Aerokit spoiler setup but not available on a Cab. You also get the Sport Design front spoiler. In Canada, cost was $6k as part of the car order.

I was wromng its now down at 80kph or 50 mph this from the 2013 911 manual

Retractable Rear Spoiler
The rear spoiler improves driving stability at high speeds.

Automatic mode
Depending on the vehicle speed and the position of the slide/tilt roof, the rear spoiler extends automatically at above approx. 75 mph (120 km/ h) and retracts again below approx. 50 mph (80 km/h).

I think it works on the shorter/stubbier 911/964/993 cars but looks strange on the longer cars...the longest of which being the 991 of course.

I like the ducktail but prefer the raising/lowering stock rear spoiler, that function alone should be pricier than the plastic ducktail.

Recently got back from there and it was a lot more than $6K / week!!!

Personally I think it's a waste of money for a cosmetic plastic molding. I'm also not a fan of the look, except on black or white 911's.

Just my $0.02...

I have the sports design kit with the ducktail. If it had not had that, spasm and the platinum silk wheels it was not getting bought. The ducktail really makes the car IMHO

No way would I spend $6k on a spoiler.
I was in the same position with my Ariel Atom. They wanted $6K for a front and rear carbon fiber spoilers which made the car look even more like a formula car, and I loved the look but $6k is a lot of money.
When I found out that they didn't do much in terms of the performance(down force) of the car I passed, and now I've sold the car so $6K in the bank.
Remember something important, you will never recoup your investment when you decide to sell in the future.
People who generally purchase large spoilers, body kits, and other wingdings for their Porsches are what I call "Attention ******" who do it to get more attention from others.
Personally I prefer the clean lines of a stock car.
Just think of all the things you could by with $6k....2 very nice laptops, a new Hot Tub, a nice motorcycle.....etc.

I agree with your wife. The car looks good as it is.
