Carrying luggage and claiming to be your child from a one-night stand 20 years ago.

But depending on how they sell it could take her a couple of years to make the rounds....

Thank your salesman for the gifts and certificates of authenticity.
He or she is the one that hooked you up...not PCNA

I don't quite get the purpose of the certificate. It is not like you can buy a fake Porsche!

+1 in principle. I don't get it either.

Although I have heard of BMW knockoffs in China which are close copies to the unsophisticated and untrained eye without any decals. And then the poseurs put on the decals on their own. It would not surprise me if they were making a fake Porsche there either.

Yes, this is it. Salespersons / Dealer Managers in USA have different things ordered based on their mood, your long term standing with them or how much money they made off you. In other countries where paying MSRP is the norm, I am not surprised these tokens show up regardless of whether the local Porsche importer pays for them or the dealer.

Personally I really have no use for plaques or certificates, so I don't care (and I mean no offense to those who do like these things). I would be happy if they provided me with useful gifts like an umbrella for the space in the passenger side that I would buy otherwise regardless. Other than that, I am always happy with a decent and fair deal. Even happier with better after sales service.

my "Pylon" also had the model of the 911.

& in Canada we don't pay much more for the cars than US

most of the difference in both Aussie & Canada are inbound taxes as opposed to what Porsche actually see.

Personally, I'd rather buy a 991 off the lot or even better, a very slightly used one with a 6 year CPO warranty and at a discount, and pass on this little trinket.

I turned in my 997 in August, locked my order in November as I was not in a hurry. My sales guy called me on December 24th and asked of I could stop by as he had a little something for me -dealer is only 1/2 mile from my house. When I got there he, the sales manager, and the general manager were all waiting. They gave me an envlope with a coupon for a free day at the Birmingham Track. I was blown away and started calling it a X'mas miracle.
Now, I had talked to the sales person about not tracking my new 991 for the first year due to break in and just general fear of tracking it while brand new. Said maybe I would go down to the track to drive a new 991 and get some track time out of my system.
Really thoughtful and certainly will generate even more loyalty...

Assuming your dealer ordered one for you, I would guess it takes around 30-60 days to get it. That's how long it took on both of my Porsches.

Default Weird new perk

So here's a new one. Last week I come back from lunch to find a voicemail on my office phone telling me to call to set up an appointment for my free suit. Seems that my dealer has a deal with a local vendor to give you, at their cost, a new custom made suit or sportcoat up to $1000 value. Before calling them back I called my salesman who told me that it was something they just started and he forwarded me a copy of the "invoice" made out to the vendor with my name on it. I then spoke to the vendor and plan on going in sometime this week for fitting and selecting the fabric. Kind of a weird perk I think, but I guess it's something nice the dealer can give you, and the vendor I'm sure hopes you'll like their product enough to come back for more.
