Default 991S order placed

After having several 911s with the oldest being 1970 911E and the newest being 2006 997C2S, I thought I wanted something different and waited patiently for the new 981 Cayman unveiling. Well, it just didn't quite provoke the emotions the way I wanted it to. The new 981 lines work better on the Boxster, IMO.

After multiple test drives in the 991S and the seductive howl of that 400hp engine...my order is placed:

Thanks Chuck.

I agree. The 991 is the best of what Porsche has learned so far. I went back and forth with color choice. I've already had the 997 in gray and silver so I went with guards red/black for the 991. Got most of the sporty bits that I thought I needed and threw in the Burmester for good measure.

I love the build, practically the same options I ordered. Throwing in the Burmester I think was a great call. With the iPod integration it will be awesome. My build date is Feb 7 and picking it up in Delaware, so not too far from your time/place it looks like. Are you picking yours up near Morgantown?

Congrats on the order!

Sweet build. What made you decide to forgo the PDK?

I've never had a car with an auto trans. Not counting the F150 and the wifes cars of course. I've always enjoyed the extra involvement of shifting and it is second nature by now. A couple times driving a car with an auto, my left foot has reached for the clutch when it's time for a gear change and caught the edge of the brake pedal by mistake....unintended deceleration if you will.

I really did go for several testdrives with the PDK, and while it is most definitely the best auto solution available, it's just not for me.

It funny how the dealers usually say...no PDK?! Are you sure?!

loaded build - the burmester is very nice.

what is ZAB ornamental porsche crest?

did you look at the additional dash leather - takes the plastic where the sport chrono would be and does nice stitching.

The ornamental crest is actually the front hood crest. Not every 911 gets one...The GT3RS gets a sticker instead.

I did look at the additonal dash leather, but for me not worth the price on the black interior.

I am looking forward to the Burmester system. Was disappointed with the Bose in the 997.
