Is this 991 Standard Black or Basalt?
I am pretty sure this is standard black but wanted to ask.

I know Basalt hides swirls and dust easier but pure black looks so amazing when clean. Wow.
Anyone have pics comparing the two colors? Leaning towards true black so please post pics if you have some.

Carrerapete, you have to stop posting pics of your car, I am drooling way too much! I want to trade mine for an aero kit right now! I have to look into that upgrade!

I find the black paint to be much softer on the 991 than on my old BMW. I wonder how much of that is the change in paint formulation (to water-based paints) and how much is just the Porsche paint itself.
I think I just need to get a couple layers of a good polymer sealant on the paint. I'll have to be regular about washing / waxing once the weather warms up.

To be completely honest, I probably wouldn't have gotten black if the car was a daily driver. But I'm retired and I enjoy detailing my cars.
The real friend of a black car is the foam gun; I didn't wash the 911 as of yet, so I'm including a picture of my former S4 all foamed up.
Here is a link to a professional detailer demonstrating the use of the foam gun; he's talkative, but he does know his stuff, and has videos covering just about every aspect of detailing.
