15 Days left to order in 2012
I have recently joined the forum and have enjoyed learning about everyone's journey to find/buy the perfect 911.
I currently own an 2012 Audi A5 Cabriolet which is a nice car but ....... Prior to the Audi, I owned a 2000 Boxster S for 10 years that served as my sunny day car and loved it. I also drove a 2009 Honda Accord coupe with a V6 that served as my DD. That car is now being used by one of my kids.
I will be trading the 2012 Audi and will be using the 991 as my DD. Initially I was looking to buy a 2009-10 997 but the porsche sales agent convinced me that I should order a new 2013 with the baseline options that I need.
I have read and understand that there will be a price increase (~2.7%) coming on January 1, 2013. My sales agent has offered me 5% off the list price with the pre order. From what I have read, I believe that I might be able to get that discount to about 7%.
Next week I will test drive the base 991, a 991S, and a 991 cab to finalize my decision.
Anyone else there looking to pull the trigger before year end?

I have a 2013 on order and it is scheduled to arrive in early 2013. It is a base model, platinum silver with sport chrono, premium package, BOSE package, power steering plus, sunroof, and multifunction steering wheel. The sticker is $97.9k and my contract price is $90.2k. I need to get out of the contract. You could step into my contract and get the car at about an 8% discount.
Please let me know if you want more details.

I spoke with the sales mgr at my local dealership who told me he had zero info on any price increase next month and checked for the last five years and didn't see any price increases by Porsche in the middle of a model year. Google search also did not turn up anything on a bump in price. Can anyone enlighten me?

I had read somewhere, and pretty sure it was an edited publication, that there was no price increase. Whatever. Looking at recent history one thing is clear- whenever there is a price increase it will be more than offset by formerly unavailable or option items becoming standard equipment.

Made an offer on 991S yesterday. It was originally ordered/built by a guy who wanted a non-sunroof coupe. He got tired of waiting for delivery, ad he bought something else. Got an email from the dealership manager today accepting my offer! I can't believe it. ;-)

Hi aualexa2,
We have similar stories.....
I was able to pick mine up at a substantial discount (over $17.5K off sticker) because the special order car was canceled after delivery and exchanged for a convertible. The guy had the clear bra, platinum lightweight wheels and the windows tinted before he even saw the car so I got the extra options for free.
I congratulate you. Enjoy your car.

I ordered my 991S on November 15. It will be produced on Jan. 23. I received an email from my dealer about a week ago that said I was lucky to have ordered before the end of the year and that there would be a 2.6% increase. He also said I was price protected because I ordered prior to Dec. 31.

I am a new member here and placed an order yesterday for a fairy lightly optioned white C2S with platinum wheels. It has PDK, Sport Chrono, sport exhaust, sport PASM and a few other things. I got a locked in price of $110k. The dealer gave me what I thought was a fair trade on my 08 Cayman, so I'm pretty excited about it. My original thought was to trade the Cayman in for a new one when they come out. I changed my mind when I discovered that a car with a similar build to the 911 would come in around $90k. I wonder if the 911 price increase has anything to do the increase in cost of the new Cayman?
