i'm a long time reader, new member, first time post, and have learned a ton from the great discussions here, thanks. i know it's cliche, but the 911 has been a dream car since age 10 when i saw+heard my first carrera drive by. posting this order is like a rite of passage...the gorgeous 991 has finally pushed me over the line and here is my order:

platinum silver/black roof
7MT
premium package with 14 way seats

sport seats plus
20" carrera classic wheel
multifunction steering wheel
bose audio system
aluminum interior package
leather interior two tone agate/pebble grey
wing mirror lower part painted
park assist front and rear
wheel caps color porsche crest
smoking package
also asked for the clear side markers, dealer will provide

thanks for any feedback!

Great taste in cars. Is that the basic sound system or the upgraded unit?

Great build.

As you see I have silver carrera classic wheels; love the sparkle, but have to say would have gotten platinum had it been available when I found mine. I have Sport PASM and 5mm spacers and always think it looks and feels "just a bit more right"- with no real comfort penalty. Heated and cooled seats and the upgraded headlights (with their dark inserts) are major functional goodies to consider.

There's an upgraded Bose system available?

I thought it was basically Bose or Burmester?

Oldman40 - If it's a MT, I would recommend the Sport Steering wheel.
The MF stalk that comes with it does everything except adjust the volume.

Good luck and congrats on fulfilling your dream...

Congrats to the OP! Love the cab so much I'm going to drive it through the (admittedly somewhat mild) winter here. The convertible top construction and operation is wonderful imo - the only thing I could add to the design would be to have the air conditioning / heat controls operate on two different modes like recent Audi convertibles do. (you put the top up, it remembers the last open-air settings you had. Close the top, it remembers the previous closed settings)

It's a small nag on my part. I adore the car. Drove top down in a rainy cold mist this morning with the PSE on (of course), stretching the manual gears out to hear the beautiful flat 6 just behind.

you almost can't go wrong on these cars unless you leave out the PSE or perhaps an upgraded (Bose or Burmester) sound system. The cabin is actually quiet enough to hear the stereo in the 991.

Congrats

I haven't finished studying the owners manual, but a speculation comes to mind. Don't I remember something about the air conditioning settings being remembered along with your seat, mirrors and PCM settings? If so, you could get in, ask the system for your settings remembered with the key, and then record those under button one. Then put the top down, adjust the air to comfortable levels and store those settings under button two.

Not what you'd call automatic, but reduces it to one-button selection. Always assuming my skim-reading memory is correct.

remember to add aluminium or leather center console trim -- otherwise, you will have lone piece of galvano plastic metal look trim in the interior.

The MF stalk is shown in the right hand picture (to the lower right hand side of the steering wheel).

The stalk does not control the volume, which is controlled with the traditional button.

Cool, and do you find that the mf stalk works pretty easily ergonomically?

What is your opinion of the standard silver colored trim along the console? Does it not match rge aluminum trim?

does not match .. aluminium trim is matt with fine lines, galvano is smooth and shiny.

bad clash.
