I feel better about what I paid to have that done. Looks like a lot of work.

Did you have something else done? Why are the seats out?

DS,
The plastic seat backs and side skirts are being wrapped in 3M Dinoc Carbon Fiber wrap.

Looks like a big job indeed.
Is it the camera focus or the plastic wrap did reduce the paint clarity? The overhead light reflection could not be seen clearly (kind of blurry).

Pics were taken to show install process. The finished product will be published soon. The owner of the company that did the install worked overnight last night to finish and prep the car for delivery today. He emailed me at 530am this morning his time to say he was heading back home to shower, have breakfast and come back to the shop to send me the finished product pics.

Xpel wrap does not reduce paint clarity. Wait for the final pics.

Thanks for the pics.. Love the car as I am awaiting my car from a Euro Delivery.
Mine is the same as yours but, black interior. I have MT also.

I will have Xpel done in Carlisle, Pa when I get my car. Can you say what surfaces you had covered and why, please? Also an approximate price if you feel comfortable to say so.

thanks,

Fred S.

Fred,
If you want Xpel installed, I would highly recommend that you take your car to ACAP Films in Manheim, PA, which is only 50 miles from you. Bill custom cuts the Xpel rather than using the kits. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Best
Darren

Um, I may be wrong, but you might want to check whether the seats are held in place with TTY bolts, in which case they would need to be replaced with new ones to assure safety.

The install and refit were overseen by the lead technician of the local Porsche dealership, so I am pretty comfortable with what was done.

I also used Bill at ACAP to cover my grey 991 back in March. About three weeks later I took a rock to the left front fender just above the spoiler. The rock left a number of scrapes and one dig about about 1/16" wide by about 1/2" long. If it wasn't for the film it would have been considerably worse. I immediately called Bill and ran by the shop. Bill and his team removed the damaged film, performed a miraculous touchup and recovered the area. Even knowing where the rock hit I can't see any evidence of an impact or even a scratch. These guys do the most amazing work. I would recommend them to anyone considering having this done.
