Viper owner making the switch to 991

That and why would the dealer put off dealing with the work that was needed? Should have done that long ago and had the car ready for delivery...
To the OP, I've never owned a Viper but have owned a 2007 Shelby GT500 that was a beast in straight line accel and a torque monster as well...could never go back though, my 991 is my second 911 C2S cab and I'm hooked....next one's going to be a TurboS! Enjoy your new 991 and please post pics as soon as you can!

I had a 06 viper, dont miss it at all. I think you would like a gt3 to transition but 991 is a whoot too. Just not as raw. You wont look back after the deal is done. You are doing the right thing. Its a sign you are done being a caveman and are ready to join the civilized...

Viper
I had a GTS for 8 years then now have a 997. I would get the new Gen 5 viper in a heartbeat over a 991. I really like the car. Now a 997 GT3 or TT is different.
If you like the viper i dont think a 991 is for you, IMO. Good luck.

I'm a sports car enthusiast and as such I like em all: Vette, Viper, Lotus, Porsche, and of course Ferrari. Being an ole guy, I just feel a lot more comfortable driving a Porsche since it doesn't scream mid life crisis, at least not to me. I've only driven a Viper on one occassion. I had a ball with all the torque, but I quickly learned a painful lesson. Be particularly careful when exiting the car after a spirited drive, especially if you are wearing shorts.
