You can get my slightly used GTS from Walters Riverside Porsche. They have a few GTS vehicles on the premises. Great discounts as well!
Checkmate accepted.

The Turbo S, at least from what I have read blows away all the jabber, cobwebs and anything else that tries. How bout some more pics?

Was the cost close to a 991?

Huh? So which one do you have, the flat 6 or the horizontally opposed 6?

I have pulled all of these to the limit at montecella and the Speedway and the Base kept up with the S. the 981 felt like a go-cart. The engineering of the 991 and 997 and 981 is completely different.

The delta in HP between the 981s and 991 base almost mirrors the base versus the 991s. So if you assume that the 981 is the same as the base 991 then you should make the same assumption when comparing the Base 991 with the 991s - the deltas arent that much more extreme. In fact, the 981 retains the same PDK 7 speed gearbox versus the 991's vastly improved 7 speed PDK.

I have to assume that you havent driven the new Boxster on a track....correct?
Huh?

Went to my local Porsche shop this weekend.
No 991's on the floor except for a "sorry, sold" white cab "S".

But - two white GTS waiting for their first owners. Must admit - I was tempted, but only for a brief moment and then the fog passed.

Got the first tangible feedback on how my 991 order is progressing (now just on three months old). Estimated build in October. You don't get a estimated date here in South Africa due to a yearly allocation system with the cars dished out on three 4 month installments. At least I now have a handle on it - possible arrival in December. That would be nice. In time for Xmas or the "end of the World" if you believe in the Incas.

Of course a visit to the Porsche shop is never free. Added "full leather" to the build in "black/Platinum Grey" - what the heck - you live only once and World's gonna end anyway...

Chuckbdc - I had to laugh when I read the post that you were responding to because I have experienced the same thing: experienced drivers in set up Boxster Ss effortlessly passing base 997s. Of course it's not a challenge to increase the HP of a detuned Boxster engine, and not many drivers I know prefer the handling of rear engined car to mid-engine. Nevertheless, Porsche Engineering has done an outstanding job with the rear engined set up, and based on my recent test drive of a 991, it is a far easier car to drive hard than the 993 that I owned over 15 years ago.

I drove a GTS and my 991S back to back and loved them both. Many GTSs were loaded and are thus good deals --if the changes in the 991 don't make a huge difference to you. They did to me. A GTS will age gracefully- but keep in mind that the basis for it is already a decade older than the 991.

You cannot go wrong- go for what makes you smile more.

20k is a nice deal; that's a pretty good buy. Have you driven it? I have a new 991 (base, not S) and love it. That said, I drove my cousin's GTS and have to say that car was way more fun to drive. It didn't have Bluetooth, satellite radio, and other things that improve my quality of life, but it was a blast to drive!
