I was surprised to find the car has no way of showing instantaneous mpg or even some sort of "efficiency" display. Anyway, I reset the average at about 2K miles with a pretty dismal 15 mpg +/- displayed. Since then I've reset it with numbers ranging from a one day 5 mpg (that's about $50 to top up the tank, then about 40 miles to bring on the "consider range" notice) to a one day 18 mpg and no idea of what "pulse and glide" Prius driving it would take to get over 20 mpg. I just checked the "consumption" display, which reports 15.0 mpg for the last 151 miles. Those were some relaxed, almost lethargic miles, so I just can't imagine getting anywhere near the claimed efficiency. BTW, the car is an S with PDK. Tire pressures usually at the "comfort" setting.

Re mileage display display- in the "Car" mode in the Nav there are three screens- one of which includes real time instantaneous mileage. Another offers several trip options.
Best to read the manual and/or play with it while parked, as there is enough information there in a slightly strange interface to get you into an accident exploring while driving.

Not that I care all that much about mileage but on a 460-mile jaunt to Minneapolis I saw just over 30 mpg at a steady 80 mph in my PDK S. Return trip clocked 29 mpg. I consider the mileage just a nice bonus. Fewer gas stops along the way. Yea!

I also tried to get the "tilt mirror when reversing" thing to work (it's there in the PCM menus) but it just ignores the setting -- the mirror never moves.
While this car has Sport Chrono, I think the absence of premium packages and things like seat memory (I'm still astonished to think Porsche would build a $100K car and omit seat/mirror memory as an "option"...) has some impact on available menus. It's absurd how they've created three tiers of tree menus instead of one list of everything (after all, it's only about 20 or 30 items all up.)

Yavol. The German approach to options is exceeded only by their approach to computer interfaces. If they didn't do sport cars so damn well I'd have a Vette or a GTR on performance/price or interface design grounds. For a daily sedan thats why I have and Infiniti G.
