my lotus exige supercharged got over 30mpg on the highway, and it had an 9 gallon tank... I dont even want to think about the headache if it was a vette or something with 10mpg highway... would be an annoying drive anywhere/everywhere

yes sports cars should get good mileage by default (aerodynamic and light) but most of them do not... i.e. maserati/aston/bentley/vette/viper/any ferrari/etc...
actually, corvettes get EXCELLENT gas mileage...to the tune of 30+ on the highway

Porsche have always gotten good gas mileage also. My 944's used to get mid 20's, and the 86 911 is the same.

I would have thought you'd get more...with 7 gears, coasting....

Here's what I got with my '10 GT3 from Grand Junction, CO to LA which isn't to far away from what you got
