Pictures from 991 unveiling at Barrier Porsche
Quite a few enthusiasts were present. I enjoyed seeing the air-cooled line up of cars (wondered if I should realize my long term dream of owning a silver/red combo Porsche before Mike in CA brought me back to my senses and more importantly told me to save my money for now). There was even a Porsche 910. Enjoy the pictures. I had a great time seeing my favorite folks at their service dept and cathcing up with a few Porsche enthusiasts. Being a vegetarian, I can't comment but looked like they had quite a few Quite a few enthusiasts were present. I do have one question for those who care to answer. For a Porsche newbie like me I wonder how hot was the 997 back when it was launched. Back in August '04, was there as much (or as little) love when the 997 was launched in august 04. Where the dealerships sold out at the launch. I really did not get the sense at Barrier if that was the case now. Let me know guys. I would love to hear your thoughts on the pics and my answer to the question posed.

Beautiful photos, Amar. You have a nice touch with a camera. As I said, don't jump at the first thing you see, unless you are sure it's what you really want. Wouldn't want folks to think I was telling you not to follow your dream.

Excellent photography, as always! What a beautiful event to honor that beautiful 910 and the early 911. The current models were stealing floor space that should be used by the major attractions.

Thank you guys. There is no secret in my admiration and respect for you both. I have more pics of that stunning 910 which I shall post later.

I like the 991, why do you say that? I like it as the GT it is. I like the Panamera too. But I like the 910 better. I am a friend of the OP on this thread. I was congratulating him on his photos and he did not have a problem with it.
Why do you care about my likes or dislikes? Aren't you sure you like the 991?

Well before you were a Member of this Forum, well over a year ago, I predicted the 991 would be the best 911 performer produced until now - a longer WB and a wider front track make the car more stable, easier to drive at higher speeds. But... long term 911 fans see other changes too... all-out-performance is not what some of us seek. That should not threaten those who prefer and endorse these changes.

Thanks for posting the photos, very enjoyable shutterbuggery. : )
Interesting to see a dealer put some effort into the 991 launch.
I get the impression the local dealers are going for little more than CostCo donuts, cardboard coffee and "let's go check out the launch control" ...

Insecure? An analyst of this thread would identify 2 posts as insecure, and certainly not mine.

I missed the event, so thanks for sharing the photos. I wouldn't mind seeing more of the 910 - one of my all-time favorite race cars.
