Right? I thought it was just me, but that looks cheesier than mozzarella sticks to me.
Just curious, have either of you ever seen a blue leather Porsche interior in person? Not pictures. In person. They look really stunning. They do not photograph real well. That's the problem.
I saw the Carrara White/Yatching Blue 991 at Isringhausen on Thursday, last week. Car was very-very nice.

C'mon man, you cannot be serious. The executives and lead designers and engineers at Porsche, who lets assume understand sports cars better than you , spend countless tens of millions in R&D to bring a new 911 to market, and, according to you, they failed in the most fundamental way imaginable, namely in making the new 911 a sports car.
I'm glad you like your 997.
All gleaned form merely sitting in a 991, instead of you know, driving one.
Every time a new 911 comes along previous gen owners hate! Human nature is so freaking predictable. People tell themselves what they want to hear. It's always the same; "it's no longer a true sports car, it's a GT!"
Newsflash: to the guy in the Lotus Elise/Exige, these are all big cushy GT cars.
i can't square a 7'40" Ring time..with a GT.....
perhaps this reflects my limited imagination....but that 'Ring time bespeaks a sports car....
And no I don't consider a GT-R a GT either....a GT to me is an Aston...Jaguar....Bentley....California...etc...etc...
A GT is not a honed, lithe, responsive, almost barking mad tool at full throttle...
That the 991 seems able to wear such a face around the Nordschliefe ...yet stroll amiably through town...is testimony to adroit engineering...

Yup. Unfortunately, my test drive yesterday confirmed everything I said.......
BTW, you must have stock in, or have the last name of, Porsche. You clearly care very passionately about its products. You seem so sensitive you are unable to countenance any criticism of the company. Nonetheless, you should get used to living in a world where everyone has an opinion and they do not always match your own.

So which Lexus is the 991 most like?
PS you posted on an Internet forum and you complain when someone calls you out? Funny.

The LFA, actually. The steering of the 991 is more precise than any Porsche product I've owned, but it does not give you a visceral feel of the road like the hydraulic system on the 997 does. The Porsche Torque Vectoring System in the 991 I drove actually corrected the car mid corner when I went in too hot. I'd rather have struggled to do it myself, but, again, the 991 is a magnificent machine that does a lot of stuff for you that I like actually having to do in a sports car.
Again, it's lower. it's faster. It handles much, much better. But I don't like it because I don't feel like it's the kind of sports car I'm used to and I like. It's big, the interior is a bit too luxurious, and I have never liked PDK. I have always thought a car of this magnitude deserved a manual transmission. And the ergonomics of the 991 would prohibit a manual tranny. FOR ME. I don't know about anyone else.
Call me out all you like, but it is frustrating having a guy whose comments indicate he clearly didn't read or didn't understand my posts constantly posting and trying to "call me out".
From: Big Bend region of West Texas/Hill Country near Austin. Texas
I dunno. That PDK is kinda like using a vibrator when loving the missus...........just saying.
Since more and more people who buy these cars are basically driving stoplight to stoplight in their little rat maze life, I suppose Porsche has to cater to those needs first.
I kind of understand that "launch cars" availability was "subject" to .. dealers sending (& paid for !) person(s) to the South African Launch event !!
(The $$$ machine in working at every sides of the business.)
I had heard that there were hundreds of 991s held up in San Diego port pending CARB clearance. This is the first Cali dealer I have heard of with a 991.
