Wheels - Carrera S v. SportDesign
Which of the two do you prefer on the 991 - the Carrera S wheel or SportDesign? I really like both wheel designs, curious which you prefer and why.

Both very nice wheels. I'd vote the Carrera S wheel just because they will be "eaiser" to clean, and I have P-OCD.
Take the $390 you save with this wheel, and check the box for the OEM 5mm spacers, and the wheel is even a little bit easier to clean, since this give you an additional approx 1/4 inch to better clean and acess the caliper area.

I went through the same thought process and changed my order to Sport Design and then back to the Carrera S wheel. Ultimately it was a very simple decision. If I keep going back and forth and can't decide why spend the extra money?

Carrera S between those 2. Sport Design is my least favorite among the 4 options. It looks like it would be harder to clean and something about the bunched "triple spokes" just doesn't do it for me. I'd have to seem them in person but the Carrera Classics would probably be my first choice; unfortunately also the most expensive..

the sport design are very ugly in my opinion, the classic's are very sexy if they were done in black (like the test cars).
i honestly dont know why the "S" has to have 20" wheels, all of the components will fit under 19" wheel... i dont want 20" wheels on my "sports car" if someone on here put 20's on their 997 everyone would gasp and make fun of the poor guy.

Carrera S wheels, no question. Sport Designs look like "salad tossing forks" and ,as other have stated, will be hard to clean.
Someone at Porsche is really hung up on the "fork" wheel design...... "Lobster Forks" for the 997.1 and now the "Salad (Tossing) Forks" for the 991. Get the Carrera S wheels and tell Porsche to "Fork Off!"

Pretty lopsided contest so far in favor of the Carrera S rim. The fact that the SportDesign costs more and is harder to clean are definite downsides, and they definitely seem to be polarizing in terms of looks. I don't like the Carrera Classic rim, ironically, to me it looks too modern. Similar to the Turbo II rim which to me only looks good on the Cayenne.
