Finally Bit The Bullet, Here Is My Build
#31
Awesome build, especially with the red natural leather interior. Great options selection too. Keep the sunroof -- just close it when you want the best look. I can't believe how upset some people are about it. It works better!

The thing with the sunroof is, I probably won't use the sunroof anyway so why add the weight in the worst possible place (up high) and give up the structural rigidity?
I did find out I won't get headlight washers without one of the Premium Packs and I think that will actually look cleaner like it does on the silver car another member took delivery of and posted pics of.
For those asking about the PCCB's, they contribute to a better ride that you will benefit from every time you get in the car. Properly taken care of, there is no worry on the track either and my dealer is providing me with the P50 pads as a deal sweetener.
Keep in mind too that for the 991, the "Big Red" calipers now employ a stiffening bridge so the caliper will have to be removed to swap pads at the track. What a PITA. The car won't be heavily tracked and my dealer assures me that if I use the correct pads and there is an issue, it will be covered under warranty. Worse case, switch to steel rotors and get on with life.

I don't like sunroofs and will do what I can to get my car without one. They're great in theory, and for marketing purposes, but I've never been able to keep one open for very long - invariably I find that as I speed up, the noise becomes unpleasant enough that I just close it.

Although a nuimber of people do not like the look of the 991 sunroof open, I can tell you that it is pretty quiet up to about 85 MPH. It doesn't "thump" or "drone" like the 997.2 sunroof does.
As I have stated before, I don't care what it looks like open. When it is open I'm in the car and can't see it!

We dropped by the dealer again today so my wife could actually drive the new 991 herself. Her TT comes off lease next month and she wants another convertible. She loves the new Boxster. I really wanted her to get it to match our 991 (Carrara White, Red Natural Leather, Black 20" Carrera S wheels), that would be cool, but no dice. Her TT is a silver/black convertible and looks like this will be the same. What a creature of habit. This would be her 3rd silver/black 'vert in a row, not that it's only about style with her. My wife is Brazilian and I actually met her through racing. She founded a female class with our local kart club, then promptly won the championship 3 years in a row!

Hey Rushman- I have a car like yours coming in and may get my wife the new Boxster, in the same color.
I have a white S coupe coming in April, full black leather, PSE and PCCB's. My wife has had a MB SL 500 for 7 years (perfect, 20k miles on it) and wants the new SL coming out this spring. When she saw the new Boxster, she may have changed her mind. I like the looks of the new 991 but love the looks of the new Boxster- Porsche hit a home run with this new car. And like you said, it could be more fun than our new 911's...

...Here's my Carrera S build. Tell me what you think:
Carrera White
Carrera S Wheel Painted Black
5mm Spacers
Sport Seats Plus With Heating and Ventilation
Carrera Red Natural Full Leather
Sunroof (I could have also lived without it this time, but it would have delayed the build)
PDK (crushed my right ankle and can no longer heel/toe too well)
PCCB
PDCC/PASM
Sport Chrono
Sport Exhaust
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Burmester (heard it in a Panamera and was sold)
Voice Control
P50 Brake Pads for track days with the PCCB...I plan to keep this car at least 5 years ...What do you think?

When I say my is one of the best female drivers I have ever seen, I am not kidding. Before she got a female kart class started, she won races against the guys. I think she just wanted to dominate like her hero Schumi did during his best days and she did winning every race but one in one year and the one she lost was a mechanical DNF where she was leading at the time! That's what happens when you dad puts you in a kart when you are 5 years old!
What I am trying to say is that the real value of this car won't be lost on her so if her car is better, I will never hear the end of it! LOL
