While we gotto reserve judgement until we can test one ourselves, I have to agree with Tony on this, at least based the reviews so far... when Walter Rohrl CANNOT slide the car, then it is totally a departure from 911 handling characteristcs and feel. I guess we will find out soon!

Touche...but I still like it.

Not sure I understand. Other than adding water, oil, and changing air filters all servicing on current 911 is done from below. Still looks functionally the same for the 991, just cleaned up a bit.

Again, great pictures, thanks! I'm loving the silver one.

Got down to the L.A. Auto Show this AM for opening day.
The 991 is really growing on me.
Interesting to see every car in Porsche's current lineup displayed in Platinum Silver Metallic...same color as my GTS. Nice.

John--while I applaud your choice of Platinum Silver Metallic I have to tell you that the LA Auto Show exhibit by Porsche bored me this year. Only two 911s, and both in silver. I would have rather seen them show more of the colors that they are producing. They have some great colors, but all we're left with is a glimpse of silver.

Here's one more shot from the other night at the convention center--I thought this was great! Nikola Tesla would be pleased.

I thought the mono-chromatic (all silver) theme in the Porsche display area was effective, Dan. (Says the guy with the Silver 911.)
And, did you notice? The lighting was about 50% brighter than in year's past, and most of the floors were polished white, not the usual grey.
Pretty striking. Certainly dramatic.
I was a little disappointed they didn't have a single "heritage" Porsche on display. First time they've skipped that visual treat in several years.

I'm trying but still having problems with the rear end of it. First time I liked the front better than the tail on a 911. With the lower roof line, the rear portion just goes on too long for my likes. I see Jaguar and Aston where it shouldn't be. At least as pictured. Cover up the last portion of the tail on the car in the picture using your fist or whatever and tell me it's not an improvement. No way I could order this car without seeing it in person first.

Not metallic. Can't be certain, but it looked like Guard's Red to me.
Loved the black headlights!

That Panamera GTS looks interesting. Nice details.

The 991 -- I like it and I like what I've read. The steering will probably feel fine in real life. I'm looking forward to winning the PCA Members only Raffle.

Porsche needed a hot red. It seems they got one now.

By any change, did you take pictures of the Lotus booth ? There is a gorgeous metallic red Evora on display and so far I can't find pictures of it. Hoping you took some and if so could you email/ pm / post them ?

I only went down for the Porsche event on Wednesday night. Skipped the rest of the show. Sorry.
