regarding bulbous headlights...
rumor has it that:
1. that they couldn't get the LED headlights in this time around, but will be able to once the mid cycle refresh comes in 7 years
2. back up cameras are coming! (guessing, based on this forum's postings, for 2013 model year)

Hmmm....
People say the 996 was the bastard, but to me the 991 has a standard GM interior, and the exterior of a Nissan 370z, with a touch of Nissan Juke.
I still wish each night for a clean 993 C4S, but I've gotta say, as nice as the 991 may prove to be as a sports car, I much prefer my "simple" 996 C4S for its looks. Typically, I learn to love new designs a year or so in, so we'll see.
...but photos are beautiful. :-)
