My car plus 80K?

Instead of the 991, I would highly recommend retaining your 997.1 and picking up an air-cooled version of 911. Pick you choice for $80 K a 993 turbo (which is on the other end of the depreciation curve), for less than half that $$ you can pick up a pristine 993 (very much a refined air cooled 911) or for even lesser $$ a 3.2/SC (last of the classic ... a "real man's car" w/out power steering ABS etc ... just plenty of character)

80k makes no sense to me. I just picked up an 05 C2S for 45k with 24k on the clock and an easy 9/10. I could not imagine doing what your contemplating with the mileage you have. you have saved much of your car for the next guy. Been there, done that , never again. Im driving my ZR1 and Porsche into the ground.

i have an 09 with no kinks whatsoever. The car is truly a supercar and is oustanding. The Porsche is fun to drive, is iconic and has a place in my garage. The ZR1 is an iron fist in a velvet glove. Power and torque is almost unlimited, while using daily is very civilized. In my view you are on the right track if your considering a ZR1. The comparision is diffucult as the cars really are far apart. There is a refinment in the porsche which the chevy lacks although the gap is not that wide. In my view the ZR1 is the highwater mark of Horsepower. The supercharger is so sweet. Gm got it right and this car is the very best corvette Gm has ever made. As for the seats , order a set of caravaggio seats and you have the finest hides on daytona seats which are on par with any car. I vote ZR1

That is an interesting perspective. A brand new loaded ZR 1 is just about the same price as a nicely optioned 991 C2S. I had 2 Corvettes before my 997.1 and I certainly appreciate the difference in build quality with the P car, though it isn't as quick or fast. Which one brings a bigger smile to your face? Thanks everyone else for the great feedback as well.
