I tend to agree with you. I thought the Targa might disappear when the 997 first came out. It is crazy to have "74" variants of a car model.

Default Cayman to sport the Targa badge

In a recent interview given to Automotive News, Matthias Muller said that the next generation of Cayman could come with a Targa variant that has roof panels that either open or can be completely removed.

I see way more Turbos then I do Targas. That's why when I see a Targa I'm like, "Ohhhhh there's a Targa, how pretty?"...

I agree too... with the new SUPER HUGE and UGLY sunroof, they WILL offer a GLASS sunroof, which will make it almost like a *Targa*... I believe that is the #1 reason they redesigned the sunroof, none of that BS marketing.
