That was fast. DSG could not handle 1.4?
Aston in gold.. You are getting old and "soft at heart.."

Fast and necessary for peace of mind.
Really I still don't know what happened to me that week.
Some ideas:
The test drive was strategically planned on a route without turns, the car was cheap, straight-line fast, and (most probably) the VW dealer slipped pills in my beverage and under heavy medication I bought a bloody automatic red car for God's sake.

Anyway I hated it after the first week, apart from the engine, it's not a GTi by any standard. And on top of the terrible setup, during my first "spirited" drive, the idiotic DSG performed a kick down while on manual sport mode and in the middle of a turn. Returned home, parked it, and called the dealer.
Couldn't burn it, too many witnesses around..

I understand.

Tricky dealer.
Sales man armed with some XTC makes total sense. Or maybe hot sales girls with red lips matching the red paint and a short skirt matching the inetrior cloth??

Well it can't be worse then the CVT transmission Mercedes B170 I drove around Germany (Bought for 70 year old mother in law). Eventually it went 180KM, but those gear boxes really suck the life out of any car.

I figure with the riots you can burn anything no?!

Maybe you'd like to buy a economic V12TT CL65 for a change of pace. It's probably worth the same as the polo here, just stick it in container, steal some romanian plates, so no greek cop will dare to pull you over and cyphon gas out of the neighbors' cars.
No one will notice it in Greece with all the rioting.

Oh, it died down? instigate!!

A few more photos. Like the steering wheel better. Buttons on the horizontal plane are going to major dust-collectors.

The full 2012 911 catalog (in German) can be found here:

Nice catalogue

I wonder which is more expensive a new 2010RS or the 2012 the Carrera S with PDK, Torque Vectoring, Dynamic Chassis Control, Dynamic Engine Mounts, sports exhaust and sports seats.. Never mind the price of a 2015 GT3RS..

I like how the alcantara goes all the way down the pillar. nice.

really loving the longer, sleeker, more hunkered down design.

I like how shifter is pretty high up and closer to the steering. Very rally, touring car-ish.

Will the upcoming cup cars use 19" slicks and street GT3 20" semi-slicks?
the race cars wheel size is governed by the rules of most all the groups ( sanctioning body) these cars race is. ALMS, Rolex Grand Am and so forth require a 18" wheels and spec sized tires.

Don't worry Peter, there will be a (faux) gold-plated version to justify the price...

Guys, PDK is amazing! I love 6spd (hate Cup sequential) but PDK is 100X better as far as ease of operation goes and retain the fun of a manual. Drove savyboy's Spyder the other day and step hard on brakes and PDK proceed to blip throttle with each down shift ... WOW!!

OK, the profile of the 991 is soooooo Infinity

I'm just so worried that they didn't upgrade the cupholders. I mean, how could they not mention that? They must be hiding something

I'm not sold. Especially on the 100mm WB increase. That will change its driving dynamics - probably more stable, better performer, but less fun.

As far as looks go, it looks flattened/longish (a la Jag XK), with a busy/contrived rear with broken hood lines and creases, and a chinese looking front with bulging headlights.

I'm sure it will be a great success!
