More used 997s after 991 release?
Maybe this topic has already been discussed (if so..please point me to the thread)...but what do you think. Are there enough "gotta have the latest" people out there that we can expect a bump of used 997s to show up in the later part of the year when the 991 is released? I am shopping...in an area where I have 5 dealers within 50 miles...and the pickings are a bit slim frankly.

Of course there will be. This is simply the natural event when a newer model arrives. There is always a percentage of buyers who must have the latest version!

Another factor that may drive this ingress of 997's into the used market is that (if I am reading the tea leaves correctly...) dealers are interested in good quality used cars currently. Since most of us take pretty good care of our cars, we are a solid target market for used so the values should be OK...maybe I'm nuts? I'm keeping mine.

Seeing the leaked specs and images of the 991, dare I say this is looking like it might be another 996!

Over time 997 owners will convert, but it will not be a mad rush.

Unfortunately, like other brands the majority of Porsche buyers are not enthusiasts, rather materialistic instead. This board and others like it represent the minority of owners. There will be trade ins, but I think they will be more controlled by the economy than the new model. Once people start to feel a little breathing room they will justify the new model to themselves.
Then again, I could be completely wrong.
